Morocco coach unhappy with World Cup officiating

Hervé Renard is a French football manager and former professional player. He currently manages the Morocco national team.

Renard said a sense of injustice over World Cup refereeing against his eliminated team will spur them on in their final game on Monday. Speaking Sunday ahead of the Group B clash with Spain, a disgruntled Renard said: “It was highly unfair what happened in the game against Portugal.

“A goal was conceded after a few minutes despite a huge foul committed by Pepe that was not seen. Why was it not seen?” He also complained about a handball from Pepe adding: “Okay it may have been unintentional but in the Australia v Denmark game a penalty was given. Why do we get different results in two games?

“And then Khalid Boutaib is tackled violently in the box and the referee doesn’t say a word so the whole thing is totally unfair. The most difficult thing is to play this match knowing that afterwards we will have to pack up and go home. I hope we will be galvanized by what has been inflicted on us,” Renard said.
