Man United star to give update on his future ‘soon’

Marouane Fellaini has confirmed an announcement over his future at Manchester United will be made ‘soon’. The Belgium midfielder, currently in Russia for the 2018 World Cup, remained a key player for Jose Mourinho last season but only played 23 games in all competitions due to injury. The Red Devils boss made a number of public pleas for Fellaini to sign a contract extension but a new deal has not been agreed.

The possibility of signing Fellaini, 30, on a free transfer has appealed to a number of clubs, with Arsenal, AC Milan and several Turkish sides showing interest. Fellaini, who joined United in 2013 from Everton, knows this could be his last significant contract and wants to make the best decision for him and his family. Asked whether he would be returning to Manchester United following the conclusion of the World Cup, Fellaini’s abrupt response was: ‘You will know soon.’
