Mathare Unite loss Another Goalkeeper

Mathare United goalkeeper Robert ‘Boban’ Mboya has once again parted ways with the club barely six months  into a three year contract.

“The club has reached an agreement with Robert Mboya to part ways on mutual consent. His departure cuts short his second stint at the club which began in January 2017 after he rejoined the club from Kariobangi Sharks. We wish him all the best in his future endeavor,” read a statement on the club’s website.

The goalkeeper previously left the club for Kariobangi Sharks in January 2017 but found game time hard to come-by and therefore switched back to the slum boys in January this year where he has enjoyed a lot of playtime. His departure means that Francis Kimanzi’s side has lost two senior goalkeepers in one transfer window as Wycliffe Kasaya moved to Sofapaka after the expiry of his contract.
