Brazil Captain Thiago Silva Reveals That Neymar Cursed Him a Lot During The Costa Rica Game

Brazil captain Thiago Silva said that teammate and star forward Neymar cursed him a lot in their World Cup game against Costa Rica when he gave the ball back to the opposition in the 83rd minute following a stoppage due to injury.

Costa Rica almost held Brazil to a goalless draw before Philippe Coutinho and Neymar scored both goals at the very death to hand their team a 2-0 win and three points. However, Silva has revealed that Neymar was not happy with him and cursed him a lot when he gave the ball back to Costa Rica during the game, as time was running out.

Speaking about that incident, Silva tried to justify Neymar’s reaction as he told ESPN, “I have him as a younger brother, and I try to look after him, giving him advice. Today I was really sad with him. When I gave the ball back, he cursed me a lot.”

Silva then went on to state, “But I think he was right, because I think they were slowing up the game. I gave the ball back because it wasn’t going to be that ball that would make us win. I feel relaxed for what what I did and was very sad with his cursing.”

Revealing how letting out his anger will help Neymar, Silva went on to concluded that, “It’s normal that Neymar needs to let off steam. He carried a heavy weight. He’ll now be a lot more relaxed for the third game.”

Brazil are yet to secure their passage to the round of 16 and will now play Serbia in their final group game, where a win will see them top the group and potentially set up a grudge match with Germany.
