Mane backs Salah for a strong bounce back

Mohamed Salah has the mental fortitude to bounce back from his early World Cup elimination with Egypt says, Sadio Mane.

Egypt was eliminated early after suffering two consecutive defeats which combined with Uruguay’s 1-0 win over Saudi Arabia. Salah did not feature during his side’s 0-1 defeat as he struggled to recover from the shoulder injury he suffered during Champions League final against Real Madrid. However, he started against hosts Russia where he scored Egypt’s consolation goal in 3-1 defeat to Russia.

“I sent him a message about a week ago, he’s a player who really wanted to play during this World Cup. Unfortunately, he arrived suffering from injury and I was wishing him the best but he’s a very strong guy mentally. He did fight hard, he came back to help his country. Unfortunately, they struggled but it’s football, you have to live with it,” said Mane.

“I wish him all the best for the future and at the moment, of course, it’s normal for him to have difficulties, that’s football,” he added.
