Barcelona keen to sign Brazilian midfielder

Barcelona are eager to sign Brazilian star,  Arthur Melo during this summer’s transfer market, having previously reached an agreement with Gremio for the midfielder to arrive next January. The departure of Andres Iniesta means the Catalans would like extra cover in midfield and they want to expediate his arrival even if they’re not willing to pay more than the 30 million euros previously agreed with the Brazilian club. Although no new deal has yet been reached, one is close and this could force Yerry Mina out of the club.

This is because Barcelona would have too many non-EU players in their squad and they would need to sell or loan one out, and the Colombian defender is the most likely to depart. The fact that Barcelona want to bring in Clement Lenglet would be a further reason for Mina to depart, at least temporarily, as the Catalan club would otherwise have five centre-backs for the 2018/19 season, which would be too many.
