Arsenal have joined the race to sign Juventus centre-back Medhi Benatia, according to reports in Italy. The defender, 31, is with the Morocco squad at the World Cup in Russia but his future with the Old Lady continues to be a talking point.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Gunners are vying for Benatia’s signature along with Borussia Dortmund.
The former Bayern Munich defender is tied down in Turin until 2020, but could leave the Serie A champions following two successful seasons.
It has been claimed that Benatia has fallen out with boss Max Allegri, with Juve already eyeing up potential replacements.
While the club have also reportedly knocked back a £26.5million bid from Chelsea for central defender Daniele Rugani.
