Tottenham star rules out England stay

Mousa Dembele has said he will not move to another Premier League club if he leaves Tottenham this summer. The midfielder, who is part of the Belgium squad at the World Cup in Russia, started 21 matches last season in the Premier League but saw Victor Wanyama picked ahead of him in the latter stages.

Speculation has began to surround the 30-year-old’s immediate future, with Juventus interested in the holding midfielder. While Dembele is refusing to give anything away just yet, though, he has confirmed that any departure would not be to one of Spurs’s domestic rivals.

‘I won’t say that I’m leaving Spurs right now. Or that I’m staying,’ he told Het Laatste Nieuws. ‘If I leave, I won’t join another English club. Tottenham is my team.’

Dembele is surrounded by players in the Belgium squad who ply their trade around the globe. While the majority are based in Europe there are those in Axel Witsel and Yannick Carrasco who play in China, and Dembele has admitted he would be opening to broadening his own horizons.

‘I love football, but I am also an adventurer, I am open to everything. If someone were to play in Bangladesh, I would also be very interested in that. I would also like to know how those people are there, how life is there. I am not going to deny that I have already spoken about Yannick (Carrasco) and Axel (Witsel) about China.’ He said.
