Three planes to bring in more Iceland fans for Nigeria


The Volgograd Airport’s press service has reported that that three planes with fans from Iceland would arrive in the southern Russian city of Volgograd on Thursday for the country’s upcoming FIFA World Cup match against Nigeria.
“Three direct flights from Iceland will transport 578 fans to Volgograd. Nigerian fans are flying to our city using domestic flights from Moscow,” the press service said. More fans are also expected by the railroad.
“Three additional trains will arrive in Volgograd from Moscow on Friday. They will transport around 1,200 fans,” the communications service of the Privolzhskaya railway also said.
Iceland held Argentina to 1-1 draw, while Nigeria lost to Croatia 2-0 in their first World Cup matches. The Super Eages of Nigeria are set to go head-to-head at the 44,000-seater Volgograd Arena on Friday in a must-win game.
