Newcastle star Ciaran Clark has reportedly been knocked unconscious in a Magaluf bar attack. The Republic of Ireland defender – who played for England up to Under-20 level – is said to have been rushed to Son Espases Hospital in the Majorcan capital Palma after being punched in the face by a man.
Police arrested the alleged attacker, who was released on bail pending an ongoing criminal investigation following a court appearance on Monday.
Local paper Ultima Hora said the early-hours incident happened on Saturday at Crystal’s Bar in Magaluf and described the man arrested afterwards as a 6ft 2in well-built foreigner.
The unnamed suspect reportedly claimed he punched a man on the nose – but insisted to police that man was not footballer Ciaran Clark.
