Kinoru stadium cleared to host KPL matches

Thika United and Sofapaka have moved a number of their matches in the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) to Kinoru Stadium in Meru, which is now available after renovation.

Thika United requested for their match against Ulinzi Stars to be moved to the stadium from the earlier allocated venue at Thika Sub County Stadium and with the confirmation, the match on 1st July is set to be hosted in Meru.

Thika United and Ulinzi Stars drew 0 – 0 in the first leg in Nakuru.

Sofapaka have also gotten the same approval from KPL to have their match against Ulinzi Stars played at Kinoru and not Machakos, which was earlier listed. The match is scheduled for 5th July.

Sofapaka beat Ulinzi Stars 2 – 1 in the first leg at Afraha Stadium.

Sofapaka will also host Gor Mahia in Meru on 22nd August, having moved the game from Narok.

The match between Sofapaka and Gor Mahia may have an impact on the title race in the league with Gor Mahia currently top of the standings and Sofapaka second.
