Golden Boot, Golden Glove and Group standings after latest match

Russia all-but secured a passage in the Round of 16 after a comprehensive 3-1 victory over Egypt on Tuesday, hence continuing their splendid run in the tournament which has seen them score eight goals in the first two group games. The match saw Denis Cheryshev score his third goal of the tournament, hence pulling himself level with Cristiano Ronaldo in terms of goals scored.

In terms of assists, Aleksandr Golovin has served as a provider twice although he couldn’t do the same against Egypt. In terms of most clean sheets, Russia’s Igor Akinfeev had the opportunity to take the lead with another clean sheet but Mohamed Salah’s penalty ruined that for him.

Going into the depth of statistics, here’s a look at who all are the current top goalscorers, assist providers and goalkeepers with most clean-sheets in the tournament so far.

Golden Boot: With his strike against Egypt, Denis Cheryshev is now level with Cristiano Ronaldo in terms of most goals scored. Romelu Lukaku, Artem Dzyuba, Harry Kane and Diego Costa are next in lines with two goals each. While this was the second match of the group stage for Cheryshev, Ronaldo is yet to feature in his second group game for Portugal.

Most Assists: Aleksandr Golovin is presently the top assist maker with two assists to his name. Next in line are Marcos Rojo, Javier Hernandez, Kevin de Bruyne, Eden Hazard and many more have one assist each to their name.

Golden Glove: Belgium, Croatia, Denmark, Iran, Mexico, Russia, Serbia, Sweden, Uruguay all have one clean sheet each to their name in the tournament so far. Some of the top goalkeepers, including Manuel Neuer, David de Gea, Hugo Lloris, Alisson, etc failed to keep their slates clean in their respective opening group games but would be expected to bounce back soon.
