Arsenal fans have been left inconsolable following the news that Jack Wilshere will leave the club at the end of the month. The 26-year-old announced on Instagram that after 17 years of service to the Gunners, he was ready for a new challenge following discussions with Unai Emery.
Wilshere is set to become a free agent at the end of June, and even offered to take a pay cut to remain with the North London outfit. But after being told he would be a fringe player at the club, the England international has taken the step to leave the Emirates for good.
The former Bolton and Bournemouth loanee has become a huge fan favourite since making his debut when he was just 16. But after being plagued by a number of injuries over the years, he has become a somewhat peripheral figure at Arsenal.
