Arsenal Midfielder Jack Wilshere has reportedly emerged as a summer transfer target for Southampton. Arsenal have allegedly offered Wilshere the chance to extend his contract at Arsenal but with no guarantees over the first-team football, it has been suggested that Wilshere will take chance to leave the Emirates Stadium.
A number of clubs are said to be keen on the England international including Everton, West Ham, and AC Milan but according to reports, Southampton are ready to enter the race. Reports have suggested that the Saints have missed out in the race to sign James Maddison from Norwich City, leaving manager Mark Hughes to target another playmaker in the centre of the pitch. Wilshere could potentially be tempted into a switch to St Mary’s having already spent a season on the South coast with Bournemouth.
