Kyle Walker should have been sent off in England win over Tunisia according to Peter Schmeichel

Former goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel says Kyle Walker should have been sent off for his elbow on Fakhreddine Ben Youssef but is pleased England beat Tunisia.

The Manchester City defender caught the Tunisia forward in the face in the 35th minute of England’s World Cup opener in Volgograd on Monday, although protested his innocence, and was shown a yellow card before Ferjani Sassi coolly slotted home.

The former Denmark international believes Walker should have been sent off for the foul, although was happy to see England come away with three points after a 2-1 win.
