England Players Would like their Fans to Get Behind Them at the World Cup

England fans have been urged to get behind the team as they prepare to play Tunisia in their opening World Cup 2018 match on tonight.

A number of England players, including Marcus Rashford, Raheem Sterling and Kyle Walker, are included in a video that has featured on social media asking for the support of the nation ahead of their Group G game in Volgograd.

“When we go to Russia we need to hear you, we need to feel your presence,” said Manchester City defender Walker.

England’s search for a first World Cup crown since 1966 kicks off on Monday evening with a Group G encounter with Tunisia.

“You will spur us on because there are going to be down moments in games. That’s where we need to stick together, not just as a team but as a nation.”

Rashford also believes having the whole country behind England can offer a crucial boost to Gareth Southgate’s side.

“The nation’s support is a huge thing and you cannot underestimate the power of your voice,” said Manchester United striker Rashford
