Chelsea midfielder and 2010 World Cup winner with Spain, Cesc Fabregas has stated that world champions, Germany can still retain their title despite losing their first game against Mexico on Sunday. Fabregas remembered that Spain also lost their first game in 2010 on their way to becoming champions and believes Germany can do likewise if they pick themselves up and play to their strength in the next game.
“I remember on the bus from the hotel to play Chile, after losing our first game in 2010, and the silence was scary. Germany have to return to what they were doing before. They have talent and they have to show up,” Fabregas said.
