Allegri Rejected a Move to Real Madrid

Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri has revealed that he was offered the chance to manage Real Madrid next season but turned it down.

The Italian boss has been linked with a move away from Turin over the past 12 months and it was expected he would move this summer.

Arsenal and Chelsea were two clubs that were most closely linked with a move for the manager but Arsenal chose Unai Emery and Chelsea were too rejected.

Though, it is a move to Real Madrid that really does catch the eye.

It’s not often that a manager rejects the chance to sign for Real Madrid but Allegri did exactly that to stay at Juventus.

Now, Allegri has revealed in a press conference that he had already made the decision to stay at Juventus and would not go back on that, even if Real Madrid did come calling.

“Real Madrid and Chelsea? Let’s say I said yes to Juventus,” he explained today, as quoted by Calcio Mercato.

“I spoke with the president and it was right for me to stay at Juventus. It was a decision I had already made.

“I decided to stay at Juve and I respected what I said, I thank the president of Real who gave me the chance to go.

“Chelsea? The decision to remain at Juventus had been taken and it was right to confirm the word given to Juventus.”
