World Cup winner Interested in Joining Liverpool

Borussia Dortmund attacking midfielder Mario Gotze has suggested that he is willing to join Liverpool and work with Jurgen Klopp again, as quoted by Goal.com.

Gotze started his progressional club football career at Dortmund and worked with Klopp at the German club.

The 26-year-old attacking midfielder moved to Bayern Munich in 2013, but he could not progress and develop as much as he would have liked to, and returned to Dortmund in 2016 for a transfer fee reported by The Daily Mail to be worth £22 million.

The Germany international, who has won the Bundesliga twice with Dortmund and thrice with Bayern and the World Cup in 2014, has suggested that he is open to playing under Klopp again, while revealing that the German coach wanted him at Anfield.

“I decided to leave Bayern and Jurgen Klopp was interested in getting me to Liverpool. And I was also interested in working with him again.

“It’s still existing. He is a world-class coach and that’s why it’s always an option. I decided to join Borussia Dortmund, but it was not a decision against Liverpool or Jurgen Klopp. But on the contrary.”
