Rooney’s trip hints on a possible MLS

Wayne Rooney has taken a massive step towards his MLS move by applying for his American working visa.

The Everton legend flew to Belfast on Friday to visit the US Consulate as he prepares to join US side DC United.

The 32-year old was seen with his agent Paul Stretford being picked up after the appointment in a chauffeured black Mercedes.

The former England captain and Manchester United all-time top-scorer is expected to complete his move to Washington in the coming days.

Rooney has reportedly already undergone a medical with the club and has been house hunting in the American capital with wife Coleen.
