Liverpool’s imminent capture of Lyon Captain Nabil Fekir has benn delayed for 48 hours. The Reds had hoped to announce the £53million on Friday after the player agreed a five-year contract at Anfield.
However, the deal hit a snag, with the Reds now rushing to get the transfer over the line before Fekir heads off to Russia with the France national team.
Reports from France suggest the issue is in fact with Lyon – due to their accounting practices.
The club is a publicly listed company, and strict stock market rules suggest they are not allowed to announce transfers until the window officially opens this weekend.
