#MatchReport: Nigeria continue winless run in 2-1 defeat to England

Summary

The Super Eagles of Nigeria proceeded with a winless run in the World Cup warm-up campaign after losing 1-2 to England at the Wembley Stadium on Saturday. A 7th-minute goal from Garry Cahill placed the Three Lions ahead of their visitors, before Tottenham striker, Harry Kane registered the second goal just 6 minutes to the end of the first half.

Arsenal forward, Alex Iwobi gave Nigerian fans the hope of a comeback just two minutes into the second half when he netted for the Super Eagles to get close to the 1-2 scoreline. In the end, the Super Eagles failed to record a win, few days after drawing DR Congo at home in another World Cup warm-up fixture.
