#Match Report: Germany Complete world cup Preparation with a 2-1 win over Saudi Arabia

Summary

World Cup holders Germany needed some bit of luck to overcome Saudi Arabia 2-1 in their last pre-world cup friendly on Sunday. This was their first win in 2018 though a lot shouldn’t be put on their form since coach Joachim Low has rotated his side very often.

Timo Werner had put the hosts ahead and an own goal from Omar Hawsawl seemed to put the game beyond reach for the Saudis but Taiseer Al-Jassam pulled one back and they should have been awarded a penalty in injury time  when Mats Hummels pulled Mohammad Al-Sahlawi’s shirt six yards from goal.

Captain Mannuel Nuer continued with his recovery from injury and is expected to be fit enough to start the first game against Mexico on June 17.
