Argentina has called up Enzo Perez to replace Manuel Lanzini in their World Cup squad.
Lanzini got injured during a training session and forced the South American nation to make a replacement before leaving for Russia. Lanzini sustained a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.
River Plate midfielder Perez has taken his spot in Jorge Sampaoli’s 23-man squad, having made three appearances at the last World Cup – he started in the semi-final and the final.
