Does Rashford Future Lie away from Old Trafford

The youngster did not play as much as he wanted last season and may have to endure even more time on the bench next season if Mourinho signs another striker

After having impressed with England against Costa Rica on Thursday, Marcus Rashford will be hoping for more minutes in the Premier League, whether at United or on loan remains to be seen.

The Manchester United forward scored a screamer at Elland Road against Costa Rica, that may well have secured him a starting spot for England, but his future at Old Trafford is a little less certain.

So far, it is unknown whether Jose Mourinho will offer the 20-year-old a more prominent role next season, ahead of Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez, but the youngster will be seeking out more game time for sure.

If Rashford were to consider a season on-loan elsewhere in the Premier League, he already has a long list of suitors including; Everton, Leicester City and Newcastle United.

However, when Mourinho was asked back in May whether Rashford would be shipped out next season on a loan deal, he said rather emphatically: ”No, he impresses me. He does not need to leave to playor to need anything.”

For his part, Rashford admitted earlier in the week that he is caught in a ‘Catch-22’ because although he wants to play regularly, he now at least is fresh and ready heading into the World Cup group stages.
