Gerrard opens up about leaving Liverpool for Rangers

Steven Gerrard has spoken about leaving Liverpool for Rangers, where he now the manager.

The former Liverpool player noted it was far harder to leave as a player than it was to leave as a manager, and he thinks that the club will always be a huge factor in his life, but that it was the right time to leave for Rangers – and indeed the right time to hang his boots up when he left the Liverpool first team

”When I left as a player it was tough, I was emotionally all over the place and for a long time after I left it took me many months to get used to the fact I wasn’t going to play for the first team again even though I knew deep down it was probably the right time. But this time it’s more excitement in terms of the challenge that lies ahead. It’s the opportunity for me to progress as a manager which is what I want to do for many years,” he told Liverpool Tv.

Gerrard won the Champions League with Liverpool in 2005.
