Germany’s probable line up vs Saudi Arabia

There were some surprises in Löw’s final 23-man squad, with Manchester City winger Leroy Sane the most headline-grabbing casualty. Jerome Boateng may be rested as he works his way back from injury, while Mesut Ozil has a knee knee problem, but Löw is otherwise expected to name his strongest possible side. Real Madrid’s Toni Kroos only joined the squad on Sunday following an extended leave after winning his fourth UEFA Champions League title, but is expected to start. Manuel Neuer has been confirmed as captain and first-choice goalkeeper for the tournament, meanwhile.

Probable line-ups

Germany: Neuer (c) – Kimmich, Süle, Hummels, Hector – Kroos, Khedira – Müller, Goretzka, Reus – Werner
Absentees: Boateng (fitness), Özil (knee)
Coach: Joachim Löw

Saudi Arabia: Al Mosailem – Al Shahrani, Os. Hawsawi (c), Om. Hawsawi, Al Harbi – Al Khaibri, Al Faraj – Al Abed, Al Jassim, Al Shehri – Al Sahlawi
