Wilshere wants Assurance of Playing Time Before Signing a new Deal

Jack Wilshere is set to meet with new Arsenal manager Unai Emery to discuss over his future.

The 26-year-old’s preference is to stay and he had indicated a willingness to accept an improved three-year contract offer worth around £100,000 a week prior to Emery’s arrival.

However Wilshere, whose deal is up at the end of this month, now wants assurances over his role in the team and a clearer idea of Emery’s plans for next season before committing to one of the most crucial contracts of his career. The midfielder forced his way back into contention last season after starting the campaign with former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger willing to listen to offers for a player who has suffered with multiple injuries in recent seasons.

However, he went on to make 38 appearances for the club as a central part of the run to the Europa League semi-finals and failed attempt to regain a place in the the top four.

The England man has been linked with moves to Juventus and Crystal Palace.
