Reports in Spain suggest Florentino Perez has set his sights on the former Portugal and Brazil coach, over other big names.
Scolari is currently out-of-work after his last managerial flirtation with Guangzhou Evergrande ended in 2017. It was a successful tenure, bearing three Chinese Super Leagues, one Asian Champions League and a handful of other minor titles.
One advantage of appointing the Brazilian is his previous experience with Cristiano Ronaldo, even handing the forward his debut with the Portuguese national team back in 2003.
