Jerome Boateng rubbishes Yaya Toure’s Claims on Guardiola being a Racist

Former Manchester City defender Jerome Boateng who worked with Pep Guardiola at Bayern Munich, has rubbished claims from Yaya Toure that Pep Guardiola has a problem with African and black players.

Speaking to ESPN FC, Boateng, who was eligible to play for African nation Ghana, said he found the claims difficult to comprehend.

“I cannot share that opinion at all,” said the 29-year-old. “I never had a problem with him (Guardiola). On the contrary, I found as a coach he was super. And that is why it is hard for me to comprehend.

On the City theme, Boateng also discussed the exclusion of Leroy Sané from Germany’s World Cup squad.

“Of course this was a difficult decision for the coach with so many good players. Of course you might be disappointed as a player.

“But he still kept his head up. He was very positive and has wished good luck to all of us.

“Of course such a decision is more difficult for a young player. But he has dealt quite well with it.”
