Liverpool’s Roberto Firmino has branded comments by Sergio Ramos after the Champions League final as “an idiot thing to say” as the fallout from Liverpool’s defeat to Real Madrid continues.
Ramos has attracted criticism for his performance in last weekend’s showpiece occasion in Kiev for injuring Mo Salah.
The Real Madrid skipper also caught Loris Karius in the face with an elbow in an off-the-ball incident that later test revealed had concussed the Reds goalkeeper.
Ramos responded on Tuesday by laughing off the incidents and stating: “I am only missing Roberto Firmino saying that he got a cold because a drop of my sweat!”
Firmino, though, took a dim view..
“I prefer not to talk about it,” said the Brazilian striker. “It’s okay, he is a champion.
“But I think it’s an idiot thing for him to say… but that’s okay.”
