Christian Eriksen was nowhere to be seen in Denmark’s pre-World Cup training session today as he travelled home for the birth of his first child.
The Spurs midfielder announced his wife Sabrina Kvist Jensen was pregnant in December, and he was granted leave as she approaches the birth.
Eriksen is Denmark’s main hope for progression to the knock-outs in Russia, with the tournament kicking off in just over a week.
It was the White Hart Lane favourite’s hat-trick which sealed the Danes place in Russia, in a 5-1 play-off second leg win at the Aviva Stadium.
