2018 World Cup host Russia ranked lowest by FIFA

2018 World host, Russia will be the lowest ranking team at the biggest football tournament after dropping four places to 70th in the latest FIFA’s ranking which historically, is their worst position. The Stanislav Cherchesov-led team who have been winless in seven international fixtures slipped below Group A opponents Saudi Arabia, who hold 67th position.

Russia and Saudi Arabia will battle it out in the World Cup opener in Moscow on June 14. Meanwhile, the reigning champions Germany continue to sit on top of the throne ahead of Brazil, Belgium, Portugal, and Argentina. The only change to the top 10 saw Poland rise two places to eighth, leapfrogging Chile and Spain.
