World Cup: African players to watch

The World Cup is only a week away and the excitement is slowly building as teams continue to put in their final preparations. The African continent will be represented by five nations, Senegal, Egypt, Tunisia, Nigeria and Morocco. Each team will have players who will definitely be key to how their teams perform. Who are they?

Mohammed Salah- Egypt

The Liverpool winger had the best season of his career so far scoring 45 goals for the English giants and leading them to the Champions League final. Salah also scored the goal that booked Egypt’s slot into the World Cup in Russia. The tricky winger will be one for defenders to watch.

Saido Mane

His pace, strength and sheer raw power has been terrorising English Premier defenders since he was signed by Southampton. Now at Liverpool, Mane’s stature as a World beater continues to grow and will surely be put to the test in Russia.

Alex Iwobi

The Young Nigerian is already a legend in his home country. A nephew to another Nigerian Legend Jay Jya Okocha, Iwobi scored the goal that sealed his country’s entry into this year’s World Cup. Iwobi currently plays for English Premier League giants Arsenal.
