Preston striker pens new deal

Preston striker Sean Maguire has signed a new three-year contract at with the club.

The Republic of Ireland international joined from Cork City in 2017 and has since gone on to pick up two senior caps for Martin O’Neill’s side.

Maguire missed a large chunk of the season with a hamstring problem but still ended the campaign as Preston’s top goalscorer – hitting 10 goals as Alex Neil’s men narrowly missed out on a play-off place.

“I have improved a lot since I signed for Preston North End and that’s what I want to continue doing and I think the gaffer has played a huge part in that,” Maguire told Preston’s official website.

Preston skipper Tom Clarke and full-back Darnell Fisher have also signed extensions in recent weeks as the club prepare for the new season.
