Tottenham Spur midfielder Dele Alli has insisted that England will be disappointed if they do not win the 2018 World Cup.
In his statement,”We’re going there to win it. We don’t expect anything less and we’ll be disappointed if we finish second.”
He further added saying, “I feel like we have to have that mentality. We don’t want to go there and just be a part of it. We know how good we are as a squad, we know the talent. If we get the best out of each other then anything is possible.”
The Three Lions are seen as outsiders to land the crown in Russia, with the likes of Spain, Germany and Brazil regarded as among the favourites to triumph at the 2018 competition.
England’s final warm-up match for this summer’s competition is against Costa Rica on Thursday night, before opening their tournament against Tunisia on June 18.
