Due to time difference around the world, the Brazilian government has officially altered the working hours of state employees during the 2018 tournament.
This means that the workers can clock off until 2pm local time in Brazil when the Samba boys play matches that kick off in the morning in Rio, Sao Paulo or across the country.
And when Brazil’s games take place in the afternoon, employees have got the green light to put down their pens and tools by 1pm.
Brazil’s opener against Switzerland in Rostov is on Sunday June 17, so the 3pm (Rio time) start will only affect a handful of workers.
