Unai Emery Eager to keep Aaron Ramsey at Arsenal

Unai Emery will strive to keep Aaron Ramsey at Arsenal and plans to use a large portion of his transfer budget to improve the midfielder’s contract, according to reports. The 27-year-old’s future remains uncertain as he has just a year remaining on his current deal and has been told by the club that he could be sold this summer if he does not commit to a new contract. But according to the Daily Telegraph, Ramsey is a focal point of Emery’s plans for his new-look Arsenal team and the Spaniard is keen for the Wales international to remain with the club.

The report claims that Ramsey has responded well to Emery’s views and there are indications that the midfielder is willing to extend his contract. Arsenal are operating with a restricted transfer budget and have seen wage bill increase through the arrivals of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, as well as Mesut Ozil’s new £350,000-a-week contract.
