Philippe Coutinho is backing Mohamed Salah to develop into a “hero” at Liverpool FC in the years to come.
The Egypt international was one of European football’s top performing players last season as he netted 44 goals in all competitions following his move to Anfield from AS Roma last year.
Salah helped Liverpool FC secure a top-four finish in the Premier League and also reach the Champions League final, where they were beaten by Real Madrid.The 25-year-old’s campaign ended in disappointing fashion when he had to be subbed off in the first half of the final due to a shoulder problem.
Salah is now facing a race against time to be fit for the World Cup as he bids to help Egypt progress in the tournament in Russia.
Coutinho is quoted as saying by Metro: “Watching Mo Salah since then has been amazing.
“He is going to be a player who will be a big hero at Liverpool for a long time, I am totally convinced of that.”
