Having spent the last season on loan at Freiburg from Real Madrid, the side who finished 15th in the Bundesliga in 2017/18 have now confirmed the permanent signing of the Austrian international Phillip Leinhart.
“Philipp has developed well with us and integrated quickly into the team. Faster than expected, he came through his first few matches and has met our expectations directly,” said sporting director Klemens Hartenbach.
A versatile defender, 21-year-old Lienhart can play in the middle of defence or at left-back.
