Unai Emery plans to reunite with Steven N’Zonzi

Unai  Emery is eyeing a reunion with Sevilla midfielder Steven N’Zonzi at Arsenal this summer.The Frenchman is preparing for the World Cup in less than two weeks time but speculation continues to surround his future at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium.

N’Zonzi has frequently been linked with Arsenal in recent years, and Emery’s recent appointment in north London has only added fuel to the fire in recent weeks.And according to Spanish outlet Estadio Deportivo, the Gunners boss wants to make the former Blackburn Rovers star his first new signing at the Emirates.The publication claims ‘several’ clubs are also chasing N’Zonzi’s signature

However, Emery’s relationship with the 29-year-old could be key to securing a transfer.The duo worked together at Sevilla for a season before the Spaniard departed for PSG. Estadio Deportivo claim the La Liga side want to wait until after the World Cup before deciding N’Zonzi’s future.However, new Sevilla boss Pablo Machin believes the midfielder will remain at the club beyond the summer.

“I think he has been here for many years and rumors have always been heard,” he told reporters.”It’s clear that he is an excellent footballer and what I want is to get the most out of him.”I trust that he can continue being a Sevilla player until the end of his contract.”
