Belgium have confirmed their final 23-man squad for this summer’s World Cup in Russia with Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany included in the final list despite his recent injury scare.
The injury-prone defender was subbed off 10 minutes into the second half of their friendly against Portugal at the weekend after over-stretching in a challenge.
He told manager Roberto Martinez he felt ‘discomfort’ in his groin but that has not been enough to rule him out of contention.
