IIniesta Receives a Standing Ovation as he Plays his Final International Match at Home

Spain football fans sang Andres Iniesta’s name as the Legendary midfielder played his last international game in front of fans in a friendly against Switzerland.

The match, which ended in a 1-1 draw was Iniesta’s 126th appearance for ‘La Roja’.

The former Barca star, who recently signed for  Japanese outfit Vissel Kobe will bid farewell to his international career after the World Cup in Russia.

And the fans, to the opportunity to acknowledge the impact that Iniesta has made in the team’s success when they gave him a standing ovation as he left the pitch in the second half.

Iniesta scored the winning goal against Holland in 2010 as Spain won their first World Cup in Brazil. The decorated midfielder also has two European winner’s medals to his name.
