Germany’s shot stopper Manuel Neuer has intimated that he can ‘take the strain’ of this summer’s World Cup after being included in Joachim Low’s final 23-man squad on Monday.
Neuer has been out of action for his club since September last year with a foot injury.
The Bayern Munich goal keeper returned in Germany’s friendly defeat to Austria on Saturday but, after also being named captain for the tournament in Russia, Neuer insists he remained positive throughout his lay-off and believes he will be at peak condition.
