Former Real Madrid goalkeeper Francisco Buyo, has termed Lionel Messi as a ‘big lie of football’.
The Argentine attacker scored 45 goals for Barca in 2017-18 as they won the La liga and Copa Del Rey. Buyo believes Messi is not a decisive player but he is only surrounded by great players at Barcelona and that is why he is able to impress.
Buyo believes that great players win the likes of the Champions League, World Cup or Copa America.
“Messi is there to win the league and the Copa del Rey? The great players are winning the Champions League, the World Cup, the Copa America,” he told El Chiringuito. Messi is the big lie. Barca have great players around Messi. He is not as decisive as you think.”
Messi will be hoping to lead Argentina to World Cup glory in Russia.
