Ex-Arsenal striker Kanu robbed of over £8,000 after arrival in Russia ahead of World Cup

Arsenal legend Nwankwo Kanu had over £8,000 in real money stolen from his bag in Moscow after he touched base from London. Russian police said it was filched by two loaders at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo Airport.

Kanu, 41, announced the cash missing when he achieved Kaliningrad, where he was playing in a World Cup drapery raiser diversion sorted out by FIFA. Lieutenant colonel Irina Volk, representative for the Russian Interior Ministry, said the loaders were managing the stuff from a London to Moscow flight.

Kanu, going on a British identification, had claimed for help to police in Kaliningrad.
