The Sun is reporting that Chelsea have contacted Zinedine Zidane to take over from Antonio Conte as their new manager. This comes in the wake of the Frenchman’s shock resignation from Real Madrid after winning three consecutive champions league crowns.
Chelsea want to discover if Zidane is looking for a rapid dug-out return or planning time off. The London club have been looking for a new manager after Conte failed to defend the title he won in his first season with the team finishing a distant fifth and will play in the Europa League next season.
The same newspaper reports that Zidane has his eyes set on a lucrative money spinning deal with Qatar. The World Cup winner has been linked with a stunning four-year deal with the 2022 World Cup hosts alleged to be worth £44million per year.
