Reports have emerged that Union Berlin defender Kristian Pedersen has been in talks over transfer deals with Birmingham City.
According to Birmingham Mail, The Blues have triggered the Denmark Under-21 international’s £2.2m release clause.
Union Berlin boss Oliver Ruhnert has however refuted claims over the transfer saying thatKristian Perdersion is not ready for the English Championship.
Birmingham is now facing competition for Pedersen’s services fromLeeds United who are also interested with the defender.
Pedersen started in 30 of Berlin’s 34 league matches in the German second tier last season.
