Sterling apologizes for Missing England Training

England Manager Gareth Southgate has confirmed that Manchester City forward Raheem Sterling has apologized to his fellow teammates after missing training.

The attacker reported to training a day late after a mix up with his flights. Sterling had taken a holiday in Jamaica before meeting up with the Three Lions set-up for tournament preparation and was due to report to training on Tuesday night.

However, after a mix-up with his returning flights, the forward did not show up at England’s St George Park until Wednesday morning.

“He explained his commitment to the team. We’ve dealt with it internally. Everybody moved on. He’s so keen for this tournament to be a success for him and the team.” Southgate said.

England are due to face Nigeria in a pre world cup friendly at Wembley on Saturday.
