Shield holders AFC Leopards are through to the second round of the tournament following a 2-1 win over Shabana in a league match played at Moi Stadium Kisumu on Saturday 2 June.
AFC Leopards started off by missing a penalty at the 11th minute. The penalty was awarded following a handball by Shabana but Ezekiel Omulo send the ball wide.
At the 16 minute AFC Leopards got the opener. Youngster Marvin Nabwire netted after capitalizing on Shabana’s lapse at the back.
Oscar Oketch chipped over AFC Leopards keeper to level the scores at the 47 minute.
Nabwire would return to the score-sheet to send the Big cats to the next round
